Our holidays are built around sociability – whether you are on one of our walking holidays in UK, Europe or worldwide or one of our activity holidays where you could be painting or dancing together or even cycling together on one of our cycling holidays. Whatever you may be doing, we know it is better altogether. It’s just one of the things that make us unique.
Our holidays are about doing the things you enjoy, which in the evenings could mean sitting in the bar socialising, discussing the day’s events over dinner, or joining in a team quiz.
Whether you come alone, with friends or family, you can relax and unwind, and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and make new friends.
What can I expect in the UK?
As well as the facilities available at the UK Country House or partner hotels, if you’re on a Guided Walking holiday you will have the chance to join in social activities in the evening. Our leaders provide a different evening activity each day, which vary from week to week depending on the skills and interests of the leaders involved and also on the locality.
A few of the evening activities could include: quizzes, talks from a local speaker on the area’s geography or history, team games, board games, card games, demonstrations or even a gala dinner and party night.
What facilities are there at the UK Country Houses?
As well as a well-stocked bar, all houses have comfortable public rooms, with a range of board games and books. Other facilities vary but some of our Country Houses have a swimming pool, table tennis, Nintendo Wii or outdoor play equipment for children.
What can I expect on overseas holidays?
If you’re on a Guided Walking holiday you will have the option of having a meal and a drink with the group, and in Europe you can take advantage of local activities such as a local concert or town trail, and at some locations there is a local speaker. Our leaders may also offer evening activities such as a quiz.
