 Delphi & Nauplion This outstanding two-centre holiday combines walking and sightseeing in two contrasting mountain and coastal areas of Greece. Spend five nights in Delphi, home to the oracle Apollo and enjoy guided walks through olive groves and wild spring flowers on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. The remaining five nights are spent in the attractive coastal town of Nauplion on the Gulf of Agolis. Sightseeing visits include the ancient fortress city of Mycenae and the famous Greek theatre at Epidauros.

On these holidays there is a choice of two guided walks for varying abilities each day.
ITINERARY
Day 1: arrival day - transfer to Delphi (3hrs) |
|
Day 2: walk from Delphi on an old pilgrim trail
through the Pleistos Gorge and the 'sea of olives'
to the coast.
Day 3: take a guided tour of Delphi's historic site,
with its stadium, theatre and temples, before a
walk local to the lower site.
Day 4: visit the attractive coastal town of Galixidi
for a relaxed day of gentle walks and sightseeing.
Day 5: walk through flowery meadows to Zeus'
cave, before descending on the ancient pilgrim
path back to Delphi.
Day 6: transfer by coach and ferry to Nauplion
(4hrs), with a stop at ancient Corinth.
Day 7: journey to Epidauros, the most famous of
all the ancient theatres in Greece, which dates
from 300 BC and then walk in the surrounding
countryside.
Day 8: free day - time to explore the attractive town
of Nauplion, take a boat trip to the Bourtzi Fortress
Tolon, or visit historic Argos.
Day 9: walk through the Prosimna Valley to the
ancient fortress city of Mycenae, entered through the
imposing Lion Gate.
Day 10: explore the Palamidi Fortress high above
Nauplion followed by a coastal walk around the Gulf of Argolis.
Day 11: departure day - transfer to Athens (3hrs) with time to visit the Acropolis and the city’s other
attractions.
