Northern Yorkshire Dales

Steep-sided valleys. Riverside rambles. Calm. High felltops. Grassy ridges. Thriving villages. The Dales Way and the Pennine Way. The Howgill Fells and Eden Valley. This is where you find more than just the Yorkshire Dales.

The northern Yorkshire Dales reveal the qualities of the high Pennines with assertive moorland hills, remote farming communities and deep valleys.

The Howgill Fells rise to over 2,000ft above the grey-slate roofs of Sedbergh, and offer hikes over the wide-open landscapes. Explore the paths along the valley floor, through typical Dales villages, to Whernside, the highest of Yorkshire's Three Peaks. There are magnificent waterfalls, including Hardraw Force and Aysgarth Falls, and the impressive Bolton Castle waiting to be discovered.
