The green Orotava Valley offers flamboyant flora and fauna and views of the sea through the gaps in the trees. Our guided walks also explore the unforgettable lunar landscapes of Las Cañadas and the Teide National Park. Towering above is the 3,717 metre summit of Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain.

Classic walking programme

On these holidays there is a choice of two guided walks for varying abilities each day. ITINERARY Day 1: arrival day

Day 2: explore Puerto de la Cruz before heading west along the undulating coastal path. Day 3: walk from the volcanic crater of La Caldera through flamboyant flora below the fractured rock pinnacles of Los Organos. Day 4: visit Las Arenas Negras, an area of comparatively recent volcanic activity, with fragrant pine trees and sparkling black sand. Day 5: free day - perhaps explore the historic streets of Puerto de la Cruz or the impressive botanical gardens. Day 6: experience an unforgettable landscape, strewn with boulders and congealed lava, on walks around the gigantic crater of Las Cañadas, or perhaps to a summit on the rim. Day 7: enjoy walks amongst the spectacular mountains, rugged ridges and tiny villages of the Anaga Peninsula. Day 8: departure day

Each year we listen carefully to the views of our guests and make improvements to our walking programmes. Further information will be sent to you prior to your holiday; however the final selection of walks will be made by your walking leaders.

Local transport to and from walks:
Local transport is not included in the cost of your holiday. Please allow up to €60 (approx £40) per week for local transport during the week (payable localy in Euros), excluding your free day.

Footpath information

	Easier Walks: 5 to 8 miles through a variety of forest, coastal and volcanic landscapes. 300ft to 1,200ft of ascent.
	Harder Walks: 7 to 11 miles sometimes crossing rocky ground with exposed sections. 1,200ft to 2,400ft of ascent.

By Air: There are two airports on Tenerife. The majority of flights use Tenerife South (Reina Sofia) on the far side of the island but a handful serve the more convenient airport in the north. The island is served by a number of direct scheduled and charter flights from the UK.
