Derwent Bank, half a mile south of the village of Portinscale, is
an idyllically situated Country House accommodation. Its extensive grounds slope to the
shores of Derwent Water, with hills rising across the lake. Speckled with
isles and surrounded by diverse fells, Derwent Water lies at the heart of the
northern Lake District. Within minutes you can be walking along the Cumbria Way,
through woodlands populated by red squirrels.

HF Holidays own and manage this Country House accommodation to ensure that you enjoy
a high level of service. A warm welcome from caring staff awaits you. Our Country House accommodation caters exclusively for our guests and the atmosphere is very much
like a house party - it's all a far cry from the anonymity of a conventional hotel.
Public Rooms - Lounge, bar, games room / ballroom and conservatory.
Facilities - Boot and drying room, laundry facilities,
mini-shop, croquet, table tennis, short tennis, putting, volleyball
and badminton.
No Smoking - Derwent Bank is designated as non-smoking. Smoking is also
not allowed on transport provided during any holiday.
You can be assured of a friendly and personal service throughout your stay
with us.

There are 37 Bedrooms at Derwent Bank. Single, Twin and Family rooms are available.
All have en-suite facilities (bath or shower and WC). You'll find complimentary
tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer and clock radio. Televisions and

Fresh ingredients, carefully chosen provide an excellent local and international
cuisine. A vegetarian option is available at all times.
Dining arrangements are for tables of 6 or 8 in an informal atmosphere.
Breakfast: Choice of continental or full English breakfast.
Lunch: Our famous self-select picnic lunch.
Dinner: A table d'hote evening meal followed by coffee and mints.

BY ROAD: 30 minutes from the M6, Junction 40 (Penrith) on the A 66.
Free car parking is available in the grounds.
BY NATIONAL EXPRESS COACH: Travel to Keswick. For further information
on routes, times and prices visit
www.nationalexpress.com, quoting ref HFHOLTEN to receive a discount. From Keswick you will need
to take a taxi from Keswick to our hotel.
BY RAIL: To Penrith station. Visit thetrainline.com for train
information and to book tickets.
Transfer to House: (18 miles).
Taxi: allow £29 per journey (less if shared).
