We had a wonderful holiday with lots of sunshine and some rain (but never when we were walking) The walks were gorgeous with stunning views and Chy Morvah was welcoming with lots of lovely food and friendship.

Nether Grange has such wonderful meals, that my favourite walks along those sweeping beaches are some help in keeping the weight in check.

My first HF Holiday break. I walked into a beautiful hall "decked with boughs of holly" was greeted warmly as if I were an old friend, a cup of coffee appeared in my hand. I was part of the family. What more could any one want at Christmas.

Great holiday. Third visit to Alltshellach and again superb. Sure it will not be my last visit! Thanks to John and staff.
A long journey to get there, but as soon as I saw the view from my room and the sight of the sun setting over the hills above Loch Leven on our after dinner Saturday evening stroll, I knew there was no better place to be!!

Just back from Freshwater Bay , we had a fantastic week. We did a 12.5 mile walk on Thursday. In all Lindsey and me walked 46 miles and climbed a total of 4300 feet. We had to have a day off on Tuesday as our legs had seized up !

The house manager, with his cheerful friendly staff, run a house with a warm happy atmosphere. Very clean and tidy with beautiful grounds. The food is good and plentiful, served well. Also the four Leaders where very good, well lead walks, with a good program of evening entertainment.

We had never been up to a glacier before so, making use of our “Z Card” for local transport and paying only for the final part of the journey, we used the buses and gondolas to visit the Hintertux glacier on our free day. What can I say – a great experience, lovely and cool at 2 or 3 degrees centigrade after a very warm 30 degrees in the valley. We had seen the edge of the Glacier in the distance on some of the walks and looked forward to paying it a visit. We walked out on the snow and watched as people skied and snowboarded on the Glacier at 10,000ft above sea level. Spectacular views all round, a fantastic trip and thanks to the HF leaders for helping us plan our day.

The challenger holiday was true to its name, offering the chance to go further and higher than the Classic Walking holiday. We ascended several peaks close to 10,000 feet high and crossed mountain ridges, small snow fields, and visited remote areas high in the Alps – even on occasion using permanently fixed ropes on steep sections. This was all under the watchful eye of our HF leader. Using the cable cars or local transport to get us up out of the valley we achieved many personal goals during the week and experienced a true mountain walking week. The crossing of the Popbergschneid ridge was a real highlight for me – a fantastic arête with tremendous views to both sides and some challenging sections testing one's head for heights!

Lanzarote is an island of wonderful surprises and stunning landscapes and seascapes. The walking was superb enhanced by the knowledge, skills and friendliness of the leaders. Thank you.

This was a holiday of a lifetime. We saw sunset on Lake Titicaca, and wonderful landscapes with snow-topped mountains almost everywhere we went.
Our leader Brian Park advising and befriending, together with the organisational ability and helpfulness of Clark Kotula of Amazonus Explorer combined to make this holiday truly exceptional. They were united in their efforts to ensure that the holiday was as problem-free as possible. |

The guides on trek were at all times ready to impart their extensive local knowledge, and gave individual help whenever needed. Indeed they became our very good friends. We were sad to say goodbye.
The cooks and porters were amazingly industrious and always cheerful and friendly. The provision for our welfare and comfort far exceeded our expectations. The "packed lunch" we were given on the first day looked adequate. What we did not know was that this was not lunch in the sense of luncheon but something to be getting on with between breakfast and lunch!
On some of the mountain roads driving conditions were obviously difficult particularly over the pass to reach Colca Lodge. Returning over the same pass a couple of days later conditions were exacerabated by a light snowfall. The driver Armando displayed unerring concentration and control, negotiating sharp bends and inclines impeccably.
Congratulations HF for providing us with this wonderful holiday.

We have had an excellent two weeks walking and relaxing in St Lucia. The local guides and and HF Holidays' leader (John Parkinson) made it fantastic and the hotel was first class.

We have just enjoyed the most excellent holiday. Good food, and plenty of it, easy cycling even though this was a two bike rating. Our guide was knowledgable and our driver was exceptional, he really made all the difference. His English was very good which was helpful, as most of the other cyclists were German, he had a wonderfully cheery disposition, and couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our holiday. Last year we did the Loire Cruise and cycle, which was also a wonderful holiday. Our only problem is deciding which one to try next. Many thanks.

Having enjoyed the easier Passau/Vienna trip a few years ago, we thought we would try Dordogne. The route was challenging without being exhausting, and well within the capabilities of 2 reasonably healthy, (but not superfit) 50+ year olds. We did have to push the bikes on 2 occasions, but there were wonderful views and also long, long downhill bits to make up for it!
The large scale maps with highlighted route, and accompanying notes were absolutely spot on - plans were well thought out with many useful tips and suggestions.
Hotels were just right, the best in town. The food was wonderful. Every hotel provided delicious freshly cooked meals -beautifully presented. Siorac was our favourite –a small hotel –everything done by the owner and his wife. His restaurant was permanently fully booked it was so popular. This seemed to be just in the spirit of the HF holidays I remember from my youth.
Good job we were cycling or we would have put on lbs!
The sightseeing possibilities were super –and the pre-booking of Font de Gaume was most appreciated.
The bikes were good –light and easy geared and this time repair kits were included .
Suitcases arrived well before us every day- in our rooms waiting at some hotels.
