| Day 1: Depart UK |
|
Days 2-3: Arrive Kathmandu (2 nights) and explore the highlights of this mystical city |
Days 4-5: A spectacular flight to Lukla and the start of our trek (11 nights) in the magnificent Everest region. We pass through charming villages
to Monjo and then on to the village capital of Namche Bazaar
Days 6-9: Trek alongside the Dudh Khosi River and up through Sherpa heartlands to Pangboche and Tengboche monastery. We have an acclimatisation day at Dingboche, 14,300ft, from where we can take the awe-inspiring hike to Chhukung.
Days 10-11: Trek up to Lobuche, and have a rest day at 16,000ft with great views of the mountains
including the great wall of Nuptse.
Day 12: Reach Everest Base Camp, following the trail by the Khumbu glacier and Gorakshep. We spend time here before returning to Gorakshep for overnight.
Day 13: Trek to Kalapathar with amazing views of Everest and on to Pangboche for the night.
Days 14-15: Walk back to Namche for the night and then down through the steep valley to Lukla.
Days 16-17: Fly to Kathmandu (2 nights) and visit Patan and the Kathmandu valley.
Day 18: Return flight home.

This classic trek to Everest Base Camp requires a good level of stamina and walking experience. Walking on good paths up to 8 hours daily at high elevations (several days over 12,000ft) the rewards are incomparable. |

Lodges at the beginning of the trek are comfortable with en-suite facilities. As we get close to base camp, from days 8 to 13, accommodation is comfortable camping or basic local lodges. In Kathmandu we stay at the Park Village Resort, a very comfortable hotel on the outskirts of the city.
