Self-Guided Trail on Hadrian's Wall

By car:

Depending on where you are staying, it may be possible to leave your car at the guesthouse/hotel at the start or the end of the trail. Please enquire. Directions to your guesthouse are included in your Personal Information Pack.

If you are leaving your car in Brampton or Corbridge, you can take the train or bus back to either location at the end of your holiday. Trains run from Corbridge to Brampton almost every half hour – you will need to change once, usually at Hexham. Journeys take approx. 1 – 1 hour 30 minutes (services on a Sunday are limited).   

By train:

You can take a train to Brampton station, which is located 2 miles outside Brampton. Details of taxi providers can be found in your Personal Information Pack. Your trail finishes in Corbridge where there is a train station.

By air:

There are a number of low-cost flights from around the UK to Newcastle and Manchester. If flying from overseas, there are many international flights to Manchester Airport and, to a lesser degree, Newcastle Airport.

Manchester International Airport has its own station, with regular trains to the centre of Manchester and Preston - see www.manchesterairport.co.uk. From Newcastle Airport the metro runs every 15 mins to Newcastle Central Station, for onward trains to Brampton - see www.newcastleairport.com
