Each day our experienced leader will lead you on a sightseeing walk of Copenhagen, exploring the different areas of the city and beyond. Although you should expect to spend most of the day sightseeing by foot, trains will also be used during the programme.
Highlights of the sightseeing programme include:
The world’s oldest amusement park and one of Denmark’s most popular attractions offers an interesting mix of rides, gardens and theatre.
The bustling waterfront is the ideal place to explore by boat, passing colourful houses and the old part of the city.
This 17th century Renaissance castle built by Christian IV houses some of the countries most cultural treasures including the Crown Jewels.
One of Northern Europe’s most important Renaissance castles, Kronborg has a fascinating history both as a castle and fortress.
The ideal place to learn about Denmark’s cultural history as well as take in the museum’s ethnographical and classical collections.
Admission fees are not included in the cost of the holiday. As a general guide, you should allow around 400kr (around £45), although reductions on admission costs are often available for students and senior citizens.
During this City Break the sightseeing programme will involve the occasional use of buses in Copenhagen and a train journey to Helsingør to visit Kronborg castle. Your leader will provide further information on arrival in Copenhagen. Please allow around 225kr (£25) for this.
This holiday is sold on a bed and breakfast basis. However, your leader will make arrangements at local restaurants should members of the group wish to eat together.
You will find that most guests enjoy dining together but the choice is yours. If you do choose to dine independently, your leader will be happy to offer suggestions and advice.
