Mainline trains will take you as far as St Erth station on the line from London Paddington to Penzance. You can alight here and complete your journey to St Ives by taxi.

Alternatively, change at St Erth and take the scenic branch line to St Ives. Trains on this line run every 30 minutes in the summer and take less than 15 minutes. From St Ives station it is a 5-10 minute uphill walk from the station to Chy Morvah.

For train times and ticket prices see: www.nationalrail.co.uk.

By taxi

The 5 mile journey from St Erth to Chy Morvah by taxi will cost around £10 per journey - less if shared. It is a very short taxi ride from St Ives station – allow £3. We will send you a taxi booking form prior to your holiday.

By air

For most overseas guests, the London airports are probably most convenient. You would require a morning arrival into London in order to complete the journey to St Ives in the same day. See http://www.nationalrail.co.uk. for details on travelling from these airports by train.

If you are arriving at London Heathrow take the Heathrow Express (fastest but expensive) or the Heathrow Connect train (slower but cheaper) to London Paddington. Trains run from here direct to St Erth, where you could change for the St Ives branch line. Total journey time around 6 - 6½ hours.

From Gatwick Airport the easiest option is to take a train to Reading station. Change here for the mainline train to St Erth, where you could change for the St Ives branch line. Total journey time around 6½ hours.

The local Newquay Airport is served by a handful of regional flights, but has poor onward connections by public transport. A taxi is the most convenient option. Allow £55 for the 40 mile journey.
