Monsal Dale in the Derbyshire DalesThis 18th century former coaching inn is set within 2.5 acres of gardens, adjoining the Tissington Trail cycle track. Newton House lies in the heart of the Peak District National Park famed for its rolling countryside in the White Peak contrasting the craggy outcrops of the Dark Peak.

The nearest facilities are in the small town of Ashbourne, about 6 miles away. Here you’ll find a full range of shops plus supermarkets, banks, chemists, pubs and cafés.

Dove Dale

One of the natural wonders of the Peak District, the spectacular limestone valley of Dove Dale is within walking distance of Newton House.

Chatsworth House

Home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Chatsworth House is one of Britain’s most visited stately homes, which sits at the heart of a huge estate.

Located near the village of Crich, the National Tramway Museum has an impressive collection of vintage trams which run on a recreated historic street.



Buxton

The Regency spa town of Buxton is about 15 miles from Newton House. Two key attractions are the town’s opera house, and the Poole’s Cavern show cave.

Castleton

The popular village of Castleton is an excellent starting point for walks in the ‘Dark Peak’. Nearby are four extensive show caves: Peak Cavern, Blue John Cavern, Speedwell Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern.

Home to the famous ‘Bakewell Pudding’, this is one of the most attractive small towns in the national park.

Alton Towers

The huge Alton Towers theme park is only 30 minutes away and is a very popular option for families.

Haddon Hall

A fortified medieval manor house, dating from the 12th century.

Heights of Abraham at Matlock Bath

A hilltop park, accessed by cable car, featuring two show caves.

Cromford Mill

This historic mill, dating from 1771, is a World Heritage Site

Cyclists on the Tissington TrailCycle Tracks

The Tissington trail is directly to the rear of the House and High Peak Trail is also nearby.  Cycle hire available.
