Folk Dancing

Paul Garner

Paul started dancing in East Grinstead in the mid 1970s. To his surprise he found he liked it and continued when he moved to the Cambridge area, where, a year or so later, he joined a dance display group which specialised in dancing dances from the Maggot Pie collection.  In the mid 1990s he started calling when the caller at his club moved from the area. He now calls at several dance clubs in the Cambridge area and in 2011 makes his first appearance as a caller at Eastbourne International Folk Festival. He enjoys dancing and calling English dances, from 1650 to the present day, and American square and contra dances.

Ron Coxall

Ron will be leading this holiday at:

Ron comes from Stowmarket in East Anglia where he regularly instructs at four dance clubs and occasionally at two others. He is in demand all over the country to lead workshops and balls. Ron is a member of the English Folk Dance and Song Society and his own compositions are danced worldwide. He tries to engender a relaxed and friendly atmosphere at his events and it’s the warm response of dancers that keeps him at it.
