Freedom Breaks offer a flexible opportunity to enjoy some of Britain's most scenic areas.
The beautiful county of Northumberland has two contrasting areas that are perfect to explore. It is one of the most remote and least populated National Parks and is a haven for wildlife. The beautiful harbour village of AInmouth is on the magnificent Northumberland heritage coast, with its historic castles of Warkworth, Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh.
Highlights of your stay could include:
- Alnwick Castle - ‘Hogwarts’ in the Harry Potter films - with spectacular gardens
- Birdwatching on the Northumberland Coast - a boat trip to the Farne Islands offers outstanding opportunities to view seals and seabirds
- Golf - a links course is just a stone’s throw from Nether Grange
- Coastal walks - perhaps to the quaint harbour village of Craster, or along the sweeping sands to the imposing castle at Bamburgh
- The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, cut off by the tides twice a day, with its castle and priory, dating from 635AD
- The vibrant city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne - excellent shopping, lively nightlife, and the superb new Baltic arts centre
