Freedom Breaks are a flexible way to enjoy some of Britain's most scenic areas.

From our base on the shores of Derwent Water you can enjoy superb walks close to this most picturesque of lakes. An excellent path runs right around its gently wooded shores and at the head of Derwent Water lies the bustling resort town of Keswick, a popular destination with cafés, shops and an excellent theatre.

Highlights of your stay could include:

  • Outstanding walks right on the doorstep - the stunning lake shore or the ever-popular peak of Cat Bells. Borrowdale and Buttermere are also within easy reach
  • Opportunities to climb classic Lakeland peaks such as Scafell Pike, Great Gable and Helvellyn
  • Keswick’s superb Theatre by the Lake offers a selection of performances throughout the year in the main auditorium and smaller studio theatre
  • Nearby Whinlatter Forest offers a selection of outstanding mountain biking trails
  • Sailing & Kayaking at Derwentwater Marina and Nichol End - just a few hundred metres from Derwent Bank House
  • Rheged Centre near Penrith, with its IMAX cinema
