Freedom Breaks offer a flexible way to enjoy some of Britain's most scenic areas.

Situated at the very heart of England, the Peak District National Park provides visitors with two wonderfully different landscapes to enjoy. There are great cycle routes and beautiful towns and villages to visit only a short distance from the Newton House.

Highlights of your stay could include:

  • Walking in the beautiful limestone scenery of the Derbyshire Dales - beautiful Dove Dale is just a couple of miles from Newton House
  • Cycling on the Tissington Trail, immediately adjacent to Newton House - miles of traffic-free cycling along a scenic disused railway
  • Chatsworth House, home of the Duke of Devonshire, with one of Europe’s finest private art collections and 105 acres of formal gardens - cascades, fountains, sculptures and a maze
  • The Heights of Abraham, a spectacular cable car ride high up across the Derwent Valley
  • Alton Towers Theme Park and Resort - need we say more - the biggest theme park in the UK
  • Carsington Water near Ashbourne - fly fishing, mountain biking hire, water sports and a wildlife centre

Great value.  What’s included:

  • Full board accommodation
  • All the Country House facilities
  • Freedom Break Guide – full of information about local attractions, activities and suggested itineraries to help plan your holiday
  • A free Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 scale Explorer map of the local area for every booking
  • Use of the Freedom Breaks Knowledge Box – a unique resource with maps, routes, contacts and everything you need to make the most of your Freedom Break

The Freedom Break guide covers:

  • Suggestions for local walks and cycle rides. More detailed directions await you at the Country House.  Also a discount on hundreds more routes from walkingworld.com
  • Comprehensive list of visitor attractions such as houses, gardens, boat trips, theme parks, museums & galleries
  • Ideas and contacts for more active options such as kayaking, sailing and rock climbing
  • Information about riding and trekking centres, and golf courses
  • Details of local facilities such as swimming pools and sports centres
