Freedom Breaks offer a flexible way to enjoy some of Britain's most scenic areas.

The mountains of the Western Highlands act as a magnet to all outdoor enthusiasts. Alltshellach House, located on the shores of Loch Leven, is a splendid base from which to explore this area of awe-inspiring scenery.

Highlights of your stay could include:

  • Outdoor adventure activities - sea kayaking, canyoning, climbing and skiing
  • Spectacular wildlife, from white-tailed eagles to basking sharks.  Red deer are common on the hills, and seals and harbour porpoises can often be seen
  • Mountain walking - Alltshellach sits amongst Britain’s highest mountains and is a great base from which to ‘bag’ a few munros
  • Riding the Jacobite steam train through stunning scenery from Fort William to Mallaig
  • The Ice Factor at Kinochleven, an adventure centre containing the biggest indoor ice-climbing wall in the world
  • Great gardens, many most colourful early in the season as the climate favours spring flowering rhododendrons
  • Eilean Donan Castle - the classic romantic Scottish lochside castle. Located on a small island just offshore, the castle is isolated by the sea at high tide, only accessible via a stone bridge

Great value.  What’s included:

  • Full board accommodation
  • All the Country House facilities
  • Freedom Break Guide – full of information about local attractions, activities and suggested itineraries to help plan your holiday
  • A free Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 scale Explorer map of the local area for every booking
  • Use of the Freedom Breaks Knowledge Box – a unique resource with maps, guidebooks, routes, and everything you need to make the most of your Freedom Break

The Freedom Break guide covers:

  • Suggestions for local walks and cycle rides. More detailed directions await you at the Country House. Also a discount on hundreds more routes from walkingworld.com
  • Comprehensive list of visitor attractions such as houses, gardens, museums & galleries
  • Ideas and contacts for more active options such as kayaking, climbing and mountain biking
  • Information about riding and trekking centres, and golf courses
  • Details of local facilities such as swimming pools and sports centres
