Holnicote House is at the heart of a 12,500 acre National Trust estate on Exmoor.  A short walk to the north will take you onto Selworthy Beacon, with its spectacular coastal views of wooded coves, cliffs and beaches.  A short walk to the south reaches the summit of Dunkery Beacon, the highest part of the moor and a vantage point over miles and miles of heather, wood and upland.  Holnicote House is 60 miles from Bristol and 30 miles from the M5 motorway.
