Hay-on-Wye Literature Festival

HF Holidays have purchased tickets for the three events listed below. You will be sent a programme for the entire festival so that you can contact the festival organisers directly to purchase any addditonal tickets for events that you would like to attend. Please also visit http://www.hayfestival.com to view their programme.

Each day you will be taken to the festival site for an arrival at approximately 9.45am, where you will have time to attend other events of your choosing. On Sunday evening we will have dinner out rather than at the house, and we will return after the evening event. On Monday and Tuesday, we will leave the festival around 5.15pm to return to the house.

Sunday 3 June

9.15am                  Depart for festival site

10am                   Guests are free to browse the festival at their leisure

5.15pm                 Dinner

7pm, Barclays Pavillion, James Watson/Ian McEwan John Maddox lecture:

The annual science lecture is given this year by the 1962 Nobel Laureate, James Watson, the author of The Double Helix, who in 1953 discovered the structure of DNA with Francis Crick. It will be chaired by Ian McEwan.

8.30pm                 Return to the house

Monday 4 June

9.15am                  Depart for festival site

10am                    Guests are free to browse the festival at their leisure.

2.30pm, The Big Tent, Abi Morgan interviews Francine Stock, the screenwriter of Shame, The Iron Lady, The Hour and Birdsong.

5.15pm                  Return to the house

After dinner talk by Liz Oakley

Tuesday 5 June

9.15am                  Depart for festival site

10am                     Guests are free to browse the festival at their leisure.

2.30pm, Sky Arts Studio Helen Rappaport discusses Victoria, Albert and the Death That Changed the Monarchy.

5.15pm                  Return to the house

After dinner talk by Liz Oakley
