Freedom and flexibility – take your own car on our self-drive holiday. For an additional supplement we can also arrange a hire car – pick up/drop off in Oban.

Arrival

Using own car – This holiday starts in Portree and finishes in Oban.

Using a hire car – Car hire pick up and drop off is in Oban.  There are direct links to Oban from Glasgow.

Travel by air

There are a number of low-cost flights from around the UK to Glasgow – see www.easyjet.com, www.ryanair.com or www.ba.com, and to a lesser extent Inverness. If you are flying from overseas there are some international flights to Glasgow. Alternatively fly to Manchester or London and complete your journey by train.

From Glasgow International Airport (GLA) take the regular airport bus to Glasgow Central station (journey time 30 mins), then on by train to Fort William - see www.glasgowairport.com. Glasgow Prestwick (PIK) has its own railway station with trains every 30 minutes taking 45 minutes to Glasgow Central – see www.gpia.co.uk

There is a direct rail service from Glasgow to Oban.  There are trains to Glasgow Central from around the UK which take around 5½ hours from London and 4 hours from Manchester

Travel by bus

Departure
You can return via Glasgow by train or bus.
