Mountain view from trackDay 1: Arrival day  - After the evening meal your leader will give an introductory talk about the holiday.

Day 2: Dun Caan, Isle of Raasay - A short ferry crossing to the Isle of Raasay, where there are 360 degree panoramas stretching from volcanic summits to the mountains of Torridon, and the towering Cuillin peaks. The distinctive summit of Dun Caan is Raasay’s highest point. 8½ miles with 1,450 feet of ascent

Stream tumbling over rocksDay 3: Loch Coruisk to Sligachan - Sample stunning Loch Coruisk, surrounded by the mighty Cuillin mountains. Our route traverses the loch’s shore before following the tumbling burn to the tiny loch above. After a short climb, we reach the saddle below Sgurr Hain for fantastic views, before dropping down to Glen Sligachan for a well-deserved ‘wee dram’. 8 miles with 1,150 feet of ascent

Day 4: The Quiraing  - Our final walk on Skye is amidst the eerie pinnacles of the Quiraing. This supernatural style landscape makes for a classic circuit amidst the geological giants of “The Needle”, “The Table” and “The Prison”. The afternoon ferry takes us across to North Uist. 3¾ miles with 660 feet of ascent

Old croft houseDay 5: Daliburgh to Pollachar - Today’s trail follows windswept beaches, dunes and the Machair Way, past fascinating Bronze Age and Viking remains, to the standing stone at Pollachar. 7¾ miles with negligible ascent

Day 6: Vatersay - Island hopping once more, to Eriskay, and on to Barra, voted ‘Britain’s most beautiful isle’. From here we visit the most southern of the inhabited Western Isles, for a walk on the tiny island of Vatersay. 4½ miles with 260 feet of ascent

White sandy beachDay 7: Eoligarry & Heaval - Our Eoligarry curcuit takes in the expanse of the white cockle shell beaches, Barra's tiny airport, and Barra's most ecclesiastical site. If you are lucky, you might spot one of the groups of bottlenose dolphins that frolic in the Sound. Afterwards, an ascent of Barra's mini-Matterhorn, Heaval, rewards us with a spectacular finale of far-reaching views over the isles, before a leisurely stroll takes us back to our last evening in Castlebay. Eoligarry 7½ miles with 650 feet of ascent and Heaval 4 miles with 1,300 feet of ascent

Day 8: Departure day - Choose a scenic ferry journey to Oban or a flight from Barra’s airport (with its unique runway on the beach) for your journey home.
