We stay in comfortable 3-star hotels, making use of some of the excellent facilities of the Fosshotel chain of hotels that are located around Iceland. All hotels feature comfortable rooms, welcoming dining and lounge areas and are well set up for walking and outdoor groups. They also enjoy wonderful locations surrounded by the stunning Icelandic scenery and national parks.

On arrival in Iceland we spend our first night in the Hotel Reykjavik Natura, situated near Oskjuhlid hill, a popular outdoor area. The hotel is situated a short (15 minutes) walk away from the city centre. If you prefer, the hotel also offers shuttles to the centre.

Our next two evenings are in Hvolsvollur, at the Hotel Hvolsvollur. Rooms are very spacious, comfortable and the location is an excellent base for our walking.

Skaftafell National Park and the Fosshotel Skaftafell provide welcoming accommodation for our next three evenings, in one of the most stunning locations in Iceland.

On to Selfoss, for one night at the modern, 4* Hotel Selfoss, before continuing to the Snæfellsness Peninsula, and Hotel Hamar (2 nights). Hotel Hamar provides us with comfortable modern rooms, and the chance to relax, surrounded by awesome Icelandic scenery, in its outdoor hot tubs.

Our final evening takes us back to the Hotel Reykjavik Natura, in Reykjavik.
