The climate in Tibet is cool and dry and affected greatly by the altitude. The best times to visit are between April and October, with mild daytime temperatures, although nights are cold. The sunlight is intense at the altitudes and good sun protection is essential.
This holiday includes travel through the high altitudes of around 5,000m (16,400 ft). The highest you will sleep is at 4990m. Plenty of time has been built into the itinerary in Nepal and in Lhasa in order to acclimatise, but travellers are bound to feel the effects of the high altitude to some degree. Please consult your GP or health practitioner to confirm that you are fit to travel and sleep at such high altitude.
