Marina is a freelance Blue Badge tourist guide based in Edinburgh. She was introduced to the Lake District as a child, when her grandparents moved there to live. On subsequent visits her grandfather, who had also been a tour guide, enthusiastically introduced her to his new home by driving around and mesmerising her with tales of the Vikings, Romans, historical characters or marauding Scots!  We all know the magic of childhood holidays stays with you, and Marina hopes that guests can feel her genuine passion for the Lake District. Her mother now spends a lot of time there so the family connection is current and she now considers herself an honorary Lakelander! Marina feels proud and privileged to continue the family ‘guiding’ tradition and help to show off this very special place.
