From £369 - 4 nights
We shall be exploring the music from the great days of the BBC Light Programme and countless seaside orchestras. Music by ‘the uncrowned king of light music’ Eric Coates will be included, as well as work by Haydn Wood, Robert Farnon and others, alongside a few selections from popular shows of the period. The music selected will be designed to meet the make up and size of the instrumental group and variety and enjoyment will be the prime consideration.
All instrumentalists are welcome and guests are asked to return the questionnaire giving details of instruments offered and level of experience. Some sight reading ability is a pre-requisite in order to gain the maximum enjoyment from the repertoire.
This is a practical music making holiday and copies of the music selected will be available on arrival but it will not be possible to send this to guests in advance. We will also listen to some recorded examples of music by composers of this genre.
