Lisa Spratling

Lisa is originally from Yorkshire and an ex-Royal Navy photographer whose passion for travel started in 1995 after a trekking trip to Nepal.  Due to her love of anywhere hilly or mountainous she spent 16 years living and working overseas in Nepal and Slovenia where her love of the outdoors grew.  Lisa spent her time in Slovenia operating and leading groups in the Julian Alps alongside exploring Europe and the Former Yugoslavia, whilst her adventurous streak has taken her Chile, India, the Himalayas and Egypt.  Her last trip was a three month adventure drive through Europe, the Middle East and North Africa in a Morgan!  Now settled in the Cotswolds, Lisa is at her happiest sharing her love of the outdoors with others whilst leading.

Walter Willcox

Walter is leading this holiday on 29 June 2013

Walter is a Blue Badge Guide, based in the North of England.  He qualified after retiring as a university lecturer in history.  He also taught general arts courses with the Open University, from its beginnings in 1971 until 2010.  He has a tremendous enthusiasm for the rich cultural heritage in the North of England, and a great love of the beautiful remote countryside of the region.  Over the past forty years he has lived in several parts of Northumberland and Cumbria, including the Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall and the North Pennines.  Walter takes great pleasure in sharing his knowledge of the area with visitors.

Judith Edgoose

Judith will be leading this holiday on 24 August 2013

Judith lives on a farm in County Durham where with her husband she runs a Bed and Breakfast and holiday cottage. In the course of the past 30 years she has been a dairy farmer, a teacher of German and French, a mother and now a grandmother. In 1998 she decided there was more to life than teaching in a comprehensive school and trained as a Blue Badge Guide, since when she has enjoyed guiding groups across the north of England. As she lives in the very south of County Durham she has enjoyed visits to Yorkshire ever since her children were small, and it gives her great pleasure to share the delights of the beautiful scenery with its fascinating geology.
