New Zealand - Grand Discovery

This holiday encompasses a large area with a variety of different locations. From modern city hotels, to country lodges, the 3 and 4-star hotels are chosen for their high standards, good food, suitability for groups and excellent locations.

We begin in Auckland with a 2 night stay at the modern Rydges Hotel, the newest hotel in the city. Rooms are comfortable and you can use the pool and gym facilities if you still have energy after exploring. Moving on to Rotorua we make use of the Distinction chain of hotels (2 nights), again with swimming pool, spa and sauna. We stay in one of the sister hotels on our stay at our lakefront accommodation in Te Anau (3 nights).

The Bayview Chateau, with its old-world charm and majestic mountain location, accommodates us at the foot of Mt Ruapehu, Tongariro (2 nights). 

Crossing over to South Island, we are welcomed at the Mercure, Picton (2 nights), before our journey takes to Greymouth - the Kingsgate Hotel (1 night), and on to Fox Glacier. At Fox (1 night) and Queenstown (4 nights) we stay at the Heartland hotels. Both are set in stunning locations, only a short stroll from any activities.

After Te Anau we reach MacKenzie Country Inn (2 nights), peaceful accommodation set amidst the stunning scenery of the Southern Alps and Mount Cook.

Our final journey takes us to Christchurch where we are welcomed at the Elms Hotel (2 nights), before our flight home.

Milford Track & Routeburn Track extensions

For these extension options, you will be staying in comfortable Track Lodges. These provide good, basic accommodation and food, with laundry facilities, heated drying rooms, flush toilets and hot showers. Note however that lodge rooms are multi-bedded and may be mixed sex.
