By taxi

The 1 mile journey from Alnmouth railway station takes approximately 5 minutes, with a cost of around £2 per person for a shared taxi. We will send you a taxi booking form prior to your holiday. The return journey can be arranged on your behalf by the House Manager.

By bus

The 518 bus runs from Alnmouth Station to Alnmouth Village once an hour. You will need to get off the bus at the church in Northumberland Street; Nether Grange is a short walk along the main street and down Pease’s Lane. Contact Arriva for up to date information on timetables on 0044 870 6082608.

By air

The nearest airport is at Newcastle. If you arriving at London Heathrow or London Gatwick it is possible, if you have a morning arrival, to reach Nether Grange in a day. See www.nationalrail.co.uk for details on travelling from these airports by train.

From Newcastle Airport take the metro from the airport to Newcastle Central station. Change here for the mainline train north to Alnmouth. Total journey time around 1 hour.

If you are arriving at London Heathrow take the Underground to London Kings’ Cross station. Trains run from here to Alnmouth (some direct, others may require 1 change at Newcastle). Total journey time around 5 hours. 

From Gatwick Airport the easiest option is to take a Thameslink train to King’s Cross St Pancras station in central London. From here it is a 5 minute walk to the adjacent London King’s Cross station. Trains run from here to Alnmouth (some direct, others may require 1 change at Newcastle). Total journey time around 5 hours. 

By National Express coach

Coaches operate to Newcastle, from where you can travel on to Alnmouth by bus or train. Further information on National Express routes, times and prices is available at www.nationalexpress.co.uk. A discount is available for our customers.
