Guided City Break in Prague

Holiday reference: PRLCL

Print guided holiday itinerary information

Each day our experienced leader will lead you on a sightseeing walk of Prague, exploring the different areas of the city. Although you should expect to spend most of the day sightseeing by foot, the metro and tram network will also be used during the programme.

Highlights of the sightseeing programme include:

Old Town Square

The focal point of the Old Town is made up of attractive Romanesque and Gothic buildings and known for its Astronomical Clock.

Charles Bridge

Prague’s picture-postcard image, this Gothic bridge was built to connect the Old Town with the palace and offers great views over the Prague skyline.

Little Quarter

Clustered around the base of the palace complex, the Little Quarter is a quaint area of old burgher streets and cobbled lanes and at the centre, the baroque St Nicholas church.

Jewish Quarter

One of the most atmospheric areas of the city dating back to the 12th century. Today, the oldest synagogue in Europe and a Jewish cemetery from the 15th century remains.

Royal Palace

More like a walled town than a castle, this expansive complex includes a cathedral, palace, a cobbled street lined with old cottages and craft shops, gardens and museums.

Admission fees

Admission fees are not included in the cost of the holiday. As a general guide, you should allow around 1750kc, although reductions on admission costs are often available for students and senior citizens.

Local transport

During this City Break the sightseeing programme will involve the use of the metro and tram network. In Prague, we recommend that you buy a 5 day Prague Travel Pass which costs around 500kc. Your leader will provide further information on arrival in Prague.

In the evenings

This holiday is sold on a Bed and Breakfast basis. However, your leader will make arrangements at local restaurants should members of the group wish to eat together.
You will find that most guests enjoy dining together but the choice is yours. If you do choose to dine independently, your leader will be happy to offer suggestions and advice.
