For all holidays:

Day 1: Arrival day

Your room will be available from 2.30pm onwards. Please join us for tea between 4pm and 5pm to meet the leader and your fellow guests.

Before dinner there will be a brief introduction to the holiday programme.

Conistonwater, 30 June 2012, with Irene Sanderson

Day 2:  A walk up to Tarn Hows, the jewel of the lakes, for a circular walk around the beautiful main tarn nestling below the summits with a diversion to see the waterfalls.

Day 3: Walk over White Moss Common with views over Rydal Water and Grasmere before visiting the village.

Day 4: The lake steamer on Coniston Water, first down to Torver for a study of the lake before returning to the Lakeland town of Coniston and its many attractions.  Something for everyone with landscape, history and excellent tearooms.

Day 5: Depart after breakfast.

Whitby, 18 August 2012, with Irene Sanderson

Day 2: A walk into Whitby to study the abbey and the harbour redolent with gothic history. 

Day 3: A walk from Hinderwell to Staithes along the cliff top section of the Cleveland Way with panoramic sea views and a harbour made famous by the Staithes group of artists.

Day 4: From the charming teahouse Midge Hall by Falling Foss waterfall, a circular walk along the river in beautiful rolling North Yorkshire countryside.

Day 5: This is a free day for you to relax at the Country House or explore the local area.

Day 6: Robin Hood's Bay to tackle the changing light and tides, as caught by Turner.

Day 7: Hutton le Hole provides plenty of scenic subject matter with its collection of ancient buildings and rural ways.

Day 8: Depart after breakfast.
