Holiday reference: SXLCL

Print guided holiday itinerary information

Each day our experienced leader will lead you on a sightseeing walk of Seville, exploring the different areas of the city. Although you should expect to spend most of the day sightseeing by foot, buses will also occasionally be used during the programme.

Highlights of the sightseeing programme include:

Seville Cathedral

Built on the site of the city’s former mosque, this imposing building is one of the largest medieval and Gothic cathedrals.

Santa Cruz district

Formerly the city’s Jewish quarter, this network of atmospheric narrow lanes and small plazas makes for a pleasant area to stroll and soak up the ambience.

Alcazar

This Moorish inspired complex has witnessed a wealth of history from its days as Alfonso XI’s fortified palace to its usage by the Inquisition and more recently as a prison.

Museo de Bellas Artes

The city’s major art gallery is housed in a former convent and offers an impressive collection of Spanish art and sculptures from the medieval to the modern.

Parque Maria Luisa

One of Europe’s finest parks, this area of tree-lined avenues, flower beds, pavilions and ponds, is the perfect escape from the bustle of the city.

Cordoba

The former capital of the Caliphate of Cordoba, highlights include the Alcazar and the Mezquita.

Admission Fees

Admission fees are not included in the cost of the holiday. As a general guide, you should allow around €60, although reductions on admission costs are often available for students and senior citizens.

Local Transport

During this City Break the sightseeing programme may occasionally use local buses. The return train fare to Cordoba is included in the holiday price. Your leader will provide further information on arrival in Seville.

In the Evenings

This holiday is sold on a bed and breakfast basis. However, your leader will make arrangements at local restaurants should members of the group wish to eat together.
You will find that most guests enjoy dining together but the choice is yours. If you do choose to dine independently, your leader will be happy to offer suggestions and advice.
