The following is a suggested programme, but your HF Holidays' leader may adjust it at their discretion, according to the wishes of the group. There is clearly no obligation to join in any activity, and you should feel free to spend the time as you wish.
Day 1: arrival day – transfer to your hotel in the centre of Marrakesh.
Day 2: enter the old town, the Medina, overlooked by the dramatic Koutoubia minaret, and with your leader explore the enticing world of the souks, the largest in Morocco. We will also visit the fascinating Marrakesh Museum, housed in a magnificent palace and the exquisitely decorated Ben Yousseff Medersa.
Day 3: explore the Kasbah, the original walled citadel, containing the fabulous ruins of the El Badi Palace and the lavishly decorated Saadian tombs. We will have time to stroll through the fig and pomegranate orchards of the Agdal Gardens and visit the beautiful Bahia Palace, whose name means ‘brilliance’.
Day 4: visit the lovely Majorelle Gardens and the Museum of Islamic Art, then head to the souks for some serious souvenir shopping. Finish the day entertained by the performers in the great square of Jemmaa el-Fna as musicians, acrobats, jugglers, story-tellers and snake-charmers take the stage.
Day 5: departure day.
