At HF Holidays we are always looking for ways to improve the facilities we can offer at our Country House accommodation. This year we are creating a new indoor swimming pool, spa pool and 16 beautiful new bedrooms as part of a major new development at Alltshellach, Glen Coe in time for the summer season.
Imagine sitting in our sun garden enjoying a glass of wine after your dip in our new pool whilst looking at the most amazing view of the surrounding mountain peaks. What's more, we are also investing in new midge eaters to help you enjoy the Scottish summer at it best. Its the perfect way to relax and unwind in Country House comfort after a day on the hills.
As demand for accommodation at this popular mountain location is anticipated to be high, book your holiday at Glen Coe now to avoid disappointment - call 0845 470 7558 or book on-line.
Our Classic Walking holidays are all about choice. Country walking is a great way to meet new friends on your holiday and the chance to walk at a pace to suit you when you choose from up to three daily guided walks makes it all the more enjoyable. Holidays in the Cotswolds and Northumberland now offer even more flexibility. The easier guided walk on our Classic Walking holidays offers around three hours walking, typically finishing just after lunch, which means you can return to your Country House accommodation and just relax, stroll on the beach or make time to visit local sights such as Blenheim Palace or Cragside during the afternoon.
"This is a great option for anyone who wants to enjoy a shorter walk on some days of their holiday or isn't sure if they want to walk all day," explained Leader Vicki Chuter. "I can see it being really popular with family or friends who are on holiday together but want to vary their walks."
Prices start from just £236 for three nights, including all meals, en suite Country House accommodation accommodation and guided walks.
Good news for all our skiers! The snow has arrived in Europe, with even larger downfalls expected next week.
The Cross-country World Cup was held in our new Italian resort of Cogne this week, with competitors enjoying great snow conditions and bright sunny weather. But if you're a beginner, don't worry, we'll definitely be travelling at a more leisurely pace around the valley's ski routes. After all, we need plenty of time for coffee, cakes and mulled wine!
If you haven't already booked a holiday in the snow, now's your chance with 3 fabulous Cross-country skiing destinations to choose from: Cogne , Kandersteg and Ramsau .
We look forward to having a lot of fun with you in the New Year.
Nature's Calendar is a new wildlife and natural history series on BBC 2 that started this week. Shot in beautiful locations around the country, the series offers tips on where to go to spot some of the most rare and interesting animals, birds, trees and flowers across the UK.
John Rhead, one of our wildlife holiday leaders, was interviewed about the wonderful area in which he lives on the Isle of Arran. This episode will be featured on Monday 4 December at 6pm on BBC 2 followed by other exciting destinations every evening.

Our first international group leisure and travel show
20 October 06
HF Holidays attended their first International Group Leisure and Travel Show on 28 and 29 September 2006 and enjoyed meeting group organisers and tour planners from far and wide. For many, our comfortable, friendly Country House accommodation in the most picturesque parts of Britain are the perfect solution for their group and our great value all-inclusive price makes their job make easier.
On our stand there was the opportunity to enter our prize draw to win a hamper of treats to enjoy the British countryside, including a digital camera, beautifully-illustrated British travel books and a picnic set. Congratulations go to Mr J Haslam from Coventry for winning this prize draw .
On the second day of the show we joined the World's Biggest Coffee Morning and raised £85.40 on our stand for Macmillan Cancer support by inviting visitors to join us for a freshly-brewed coffee and a chat.
The show was a great success and hopefully even more guests have found out that HF Holidays is great for groups. Already more than 350 groups choose to stay with HF Holidays each year because of their beautiful locations, excellent service and great value prices. Feedback from groups who already use HF Holidays showed that last year 100% of groups enjoyed their stay and 99% will book again with HF Holidays - the perfect recommendation for you and your group too.

Over 250 enthusiastic walkers helped to celebrate the launch of HF Holidays' new brochures
06 October 06
Walking holidays specialist HF Holidays introduced its brand-new 2007 Walking Holidays brochure for the first time at its Dartmoor Open Day last Sunday, 1 October.
Last Sunday, HF Holidays' Country House accommodation, Moorlands, at Haytor hosted a day of activities and fun. Over 250 invited guests joined us in celebrating the launch of our brochures and had the opportunity to sample guided walks, demonstrations and lectures on wildlife, photography, drawing and mind & body holidays.
HF Holidays joined forces with the UK's leading conservation charity, the Woodland Trust raising more than £1,000 towards the Trust's projects in many of the areas where our guests walk. A choice of guided walks made sure that everyone enjoyed a walk at a comfortable level, despite the inclement weather. Back at Moorlands our plentiful self-select picnic lunch and afternoon teas were on hand to revive hungry walkers.
One visitor, Penny Johnson, commented
"I really enjoyed the open day at Moorlands, Haytor, on Sunday 1 October. It was very well organised, with plenty of people around to help, guide and answer questions. The food was superb, both in quality and in quantity, and I thoroughly enjoyed my walk. I do hope it encourages lots of newcomers (and older hands) to holiday with HF Holidays again. Thanks again!"
Our drawing workshop engrossed participants, who put into practice tips from expert Ron Fountaine. The sessions were full of fun and everyone was full of enthusiasm for the activity. Carole, one of our Senior Reservations Consultant who took part in one of the sessions commented, "Even I produced drawings that were recognisable!"
