2009 Achievement Awards

UK Country Houses

Each year an awards evening is held to congratulate and recognise the hard work of our Country House managers and staff. This year’s awards went to the following managers and staff:

House of the Year - Derwent Bank
Overall best scorer in our guest questionnaires, Derwent Bank, managed by Mariano and Tia with their team, have come out as the winners. They have also controlled costs and made an impact on their profit whilst keeping and improving our high standards of quality. All areas of the business were managed to the highest level.

Chef of the Year - Tom Connelly at Monk Coniston
Tom consistently achieves the best food scores in the country and this is his second year as a winner. His fantastic cooking skills are also linked with good cost control and excellent kitchen management

Hotel Operations Award - Whitby, Sue Watts and the team
Sue and her team manage and operate Larpool Hall to an excellent standard. From weekly reports to monthly stocks, they achieved consistent levels of excellence in these areas. Guest questionnaires also highly regard Sue in the areas of management and staff.

European Hotels

We have also chosen winners for our European Hotels. These winners are chosen by you through your results in the guest questionnaires. This years awards went to the following hotels.

Hotel of the Year - Hotel Ca’del Lupo, Montelupo

Europe Best Food - Hotel Ca’del Lupo, Montelupo

The superb Hotel Ca’del Lupo at Montelupo scooped both our ‘Hotel of the Year’ and ‘Best Food’ awards. With its contemporary styling, excellent local food and panoramic location, the hotel has become a firm favourite with our guests.
