Scottish Borders Walking Festival 4-12 SeptemberScottish borders logo

The 16th Scottish Borders Walking Festival will take place in Peebles, in the heart of the Tweed Valley. Boasting some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Scotland, the Tweed Valley is less than an hour’s drive south of Edinburgh and only a couple of hours north of Newcastle, but a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

This is the longest established walking festival in Scotland – a nine day festival of walks and a full programme of social events to suit all ages and abilities.

Isle of Arran Mountain Festival 17-20 September

This is the fourth year Arran has had a walking festival, and this year promises to offer a variety of exciting outdoor activities. Previously known as Arran Outdoor & Walking Festival, this fantastic community-run event offers a series of spectacular mountain walks plus outdoor activities such as paragliding, mountain biking and sea kayaking.

There will be a series of evening events including a presentation by Cameron McNeish about his latest television series, The Skye Trail, on Saturday 18 September, followed by a ceilidh.

Come along and join qualified local guides to explore the island's breathtaking landscape.
