Octoberfest in the Mosel Valley

Cochem castle The scenery along the winding Mosel River is offering beautiful panoramas of steep vineyards, with mighty castles and ruins towering above romantic villages and historic towns with medieval flair. The excellent wines of the regions are available for tasting from local wine growers, in vineyards and wine cellars.

HF Holidays Mosel Valley view of a quiet street with houses and large windows The Monastery Machern in Bernkastel-Kues hosts the local Oktoberfest every weekend throughout October until 4 November. Enjoy traditional beer, brewed onsite in the monastery, as well as local wines and delicacies from the region. There is a varied programme each weekend of various themed musical entertainment including traditional oompah bands and parades.

Cyclists Our self-guided cycling tour through the Mosel valley is offered on a Bed & Breakfast basis in comfortable family-run guests houses and 3-star hotels. Departures are every Sunday until 28 October.
