François and Sophie Rude Exhibition in Dijon

If you’re lucky enough to be passing through Dijon between now and early next year, there’s a great chance to learn a little about the local art at the city’s Museum of Fine Arts.

Burgundy A new exhibition, titled François Rude and Sophie, kicks off on 12 October 12 and runs through into next year. As the title would suggest, the exhibition revolves around the city’s famous artistic couple, the sculptor François Rude (1784-1855) and his wife, the painter Sophie Rude (1797-1867). Works on display will give visitors an insight into the parallel emotional and artistic trajectories of the two artists throughout their lives as they worked their way from Dijon to Paris.
