Singing for pleasure

Back in July, Tim Knight led our Singing for Pleasure holiday in Dovedale. Here is a summary of the holiday from Tim:

“Take a beautiful location in the Peak District and a group of singers filled with fine food and enthusiasm, couple this with a wide range of music and relaxing atmosphere and you have all the ingredients for the perfect singing holiday. At my last holiday with HF Holidays we had a large group of 22 singers from all over the country, many old friends and now some new ones too!

Tutor and guest singing by piano We worked hard in our morning sessions and had immense fun with the warm ups and singing and then in the evening session we explored a different lullaby each day. Yes it's a lot of singing, but that's what singers love, and the sense of achievement as pieces that may have seemed hard, start to come together. It's wonderful to see all the singers mingling and discussing their past HF Holidays breaks and singing adventures. Then all too soon, it's the last night and we are putting on a short performance for the other guests; their applause is recognition of just what can be achieved with a completely mixed group of people in such a short time!

After a fine breakfast on the last morning, everybody starts to leave, but not before telephone numbers are exchanged and future holidays planned. Strangers have become friends and the HF Holidays singers class of summer 2012 leave refreshed!”
