The South West Coast Path has been voted Britain’s best coastal path by readers of Coast magazine. This is a great testament to Britain’s longest and most popular National Trail, and certainly confirms just how stunning the coastal scenery really is along this 630-mile route. Out of 40,000 votes, the South West Coast Path secured 33% of the votes and it is not hard to see why.
The simply stunning views on the South West Coast Path combined with a huge variety of historical and natural interest also clearly impressed the nominating panel of judges, which included TV personality and adventurer, Ben Fogle and Ben Ainslie, Director of Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.
The momentous journey around England’s South West Peninsula starts from the traditional Somerset seaside resort of Minehead and finishes by crossing the extraordinary natural harbour into Poole in Dorset. Along the way walkers can enjoy Exmoor National Park, the wild coast of North Devon, Cornish coves and cliffs and the world-famous Jurassic Coast from Lyme Regis to Lulworth.
In addition to this great news,
