Porlock Arts Festival

Musical notes against an orange background If you’re staying at Selworthy this September and looking for some interesting things to do in the local area, you might like to visit the annual Porlock Arts Festival.

Porlock is just a few miles from Holnicote House and is in a most beautiful setting, surrounded by Exmoor hills on three sides and with stunning coastal views on the fourth. It’s an area that we visit on some of our walking holidays based at Selworthy.

The festival runs from 13 - 16 September, and visitors to the event will be able to enjoy a mixture of dance, music, art and literature. Highlights include talks by authors, Rebecca Swift and Kate Mosse, Greg Chapman's Condensed History of Britain, and singing and writing workshops.
