Any guests on our Cycling holidays who find themselves in Venice on Sunday 2 September will have the added bonus of being able to enjoy the spectacle of the Regata Storica.
This impressive pageant, which takes place at the start of the annual rowing regatta, features modern craft as well as boats from as far back as the 16th century, when Venice was a major maritime power, and more. The gondoliers dress in period costume to create a colourful procession down the Grand Canal.
All this will whet the appetite of guests booked on our Venice City Break later in September. They will have the opportunity to explore the famous sights along the Grand Canal - the Rialto Bridge, Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Square, amongst others - as well as some of the smaller islands with their fascinating history. There’s also time to wander through the narrow streets and appreciate the fine art on display in churches and galleries.
We have City Break holidays in Venice departing on 10 September and 22 October, plus a special Christmas holiday starting on 23 December.
