Spain rated as best value European destination

Walkers enjoying the view on the Mallorca coast The Post Office recently released the results of their ‘Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer’, and found that Spain ranked top as the best value destination in Europe.

Visitors to the region, whether on relaxing beach breaks or walking holidays in Spain, were able to enjoy a whole range of savings, with Spain ranking amongst the best for the cost of an evening meal with drinks as well as great value flights into and out of the country.

The study also found that the price of a meal out in Spain was also falling and is now almost 50% cheaper than it was five years ago, great news for those who like to enjoy eating out and sampling local delicacies.

However, Spain will face more competition this year, especially from countries outside the Eurozone such as Turkey and Croatia, but with a strong pound it still looks to be a great value break for anyone looking for a 2013 getaway.
