The 2013 UCI Track Cycling World Championships took place in Minsk, Belarus from 20 to 24 February 2013 in the Minsk-Arena. The Championships featured 19 events.
A mixture of Olympic champions and senior world championship debutants saw Great Britain win nine medals - five of which were gold - to top the standings at the first major track meeting since the London Olympics.
Great Britain head coach Shane Sutton believes the team’s current group of track cyclists is ‘heading towards greatness’ after this impressive outcome for Great Britain at the track cycling world championships in Belarus.
He commented: "It was an encouraging start to the journey to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games".
