Our Pathways Fund is supported by our Members and guests which helps protect the environment in our communities. Recently the Pathways Fund paid for the replacement of a footbridge on a concessionary path in the Peak District.
The new bridge has been constructed to a very high standard and the Pathways Fund involvement has established a good working relationship with the Peak Park Ranger Service.
A temporary 'thank you' notice has been erected by Peak Park which will be replaced by a permanent metal plaque thanking HF Holidays Pathways Fund for their involvement.
The Pathways Fund is kept buoyant through donations by our holiday guests. From the fund, grants are made to individuals and small organisations who seek to preserve or improve the environment in which HF Holidays' guests walk, but cannot readily obtain this funding from their own or other sources.
Guest donations make these worthwhile projects possible and we thank them for their support.

Walk the Wight 2008

Once again HF Holidays is sponsoring Walk the Wight on Sunday 18 May 2008. This is the largest sponsored walk in the South and walks across the breadth of the Isle of Wight raising money for the Island’s Hospice which cares for over 800 terminally ill patients every year. In 2007 over 5,000 people Walked the Wight raising over £217,000 towards patient care. It is a lovely walk across some of the Island’s most beautiful hills and countryside, predominantly on footpaths. For further details and registration please visit the Walk the Wight website.
For the sixth year running HF Holidays was on hand to offer advice and help to outdoor enthusiasts to choose their holidays at The Outdoors Show, at the Birmingham NEC, on the 14-16 March 2008. This year's Outdoors Show was bigger and better and HF Holidays presence was no exception.
We staged an enlarged stand where visitors could pickup copies of our latest brochures and chat with members of staff and leaders about possible holiday options. The spring issue of our HF Holidays Magazine and NEW Outdoor Holidays: adventure breaks for families brochure where also available and well received by all visitors.
For the second time this year we also sponsored the Walking Wall, where guests could share their favourite walk whether in the UK or abroad. You can read some of the suggested walks by viewing pictures taken from the show. Also, on the Outdoors Show website, visitors had been adding their favourite walk and photo. The 10 best photos where chosen by the Head of Marketing and entered into a compeition where visitors to our stand where asked to vote for their favourite photograph. The photograph which won the most votes was taken by Gary Roper who wins a seven night walking holiday for two at any of our 17 Country House accommodation in the UK. His photograph and favourite walk is below

HF Holidays attended their second One Life Live show from 29 Feb to 2 March 2008, at London's Olympia. Our expert team was on hand to offer advice and inspiration about our range of holidays and leader opportunies, to visitors who where looking to make changes to their lifes and experience unique adventures. A great time was had by all and the stand was a success, attracting many new enquirers. Our style of active, yet sociable holidays was certainly an attraction to visitors who where looking for a more satisfying and fulfilling life. A prize draw was held on the stand to win a short break at one of our Country Houses in the UK. The competition was drawn on Monday 3 March and results posted below.
