ATL is the Association of Teachers and Lecturers and supports 160,000 members across the UK.

We offer a range of active, sociable holidays and have lots of ideas and experiences in our brochures and on our website. Walking

There’s no better way to explore the countryside, and make new friends, than by sharing the experience with a like-minded group. Whether it’s a leisurely scenic amble, coastal rambles or challenging mountain scrambles we provide the special ingredients for a perfect walking holiday. 

In the UK

A choice of easier walks, medium walks and harder walks are generally offered on walking holidays led by HF Holidays' guides, ideal for friends or partners who want to holiday together but have different walking interests or abilities. This daily choice is not offered by any other walking holiday company and makes these holidays accessible to every ATL member who enjoys the outdoors. Each week there is a free day to explore the local area independently or just relax around the Country House and surrounding area.

• Transport to and from the walks where necessary

Rest of the world

Explore the world on foot. We’ve chosen some of the best destinations with plenty of opportunities for sightseeing, visiting other cultures, shopping, relaxing and socialising. We offer a choice of easier country rambles or ascents of the highest mountain peaks. Each week there is a free day to explore the local area independently or just relax around the resort and hotel.

• Half Board en-suite accommodation with breakfast and evening meal included

Cycling 

The emphasis is on holidays which combine leisurely cycling with plenty of sightseeing opportunities. Choose from Self-Guided, Guided, Bike and Boat, and Relax and Cycle cycling holidays. Depending on the tour you could cover anything from 10-38 miles in a day, leaving plenty of time along the way for taking photos, sightseeing or just having a leisurely lunch.

• Bicycle hire
• Route descriptions and map (on Self-Guided holidays)
• Luggage transfers

Leisure Activities 

At HF Holidays we have a wide range of specialist holidays in our Leisure Activities brochure and on our website. They range from photography and dancing, painting to mind & body, golf and gardens to name but a few.

Photography

Our photography holidays are great for picking up new skills and tips from the professionals to make photographs special. Holidays on offer include: Around Britain with a Camera, Develop a Photographic Eye, Exploring Digital Photography, and Adventure Photography. These are aimed at beginners to more experienced photographers. For 2010 we have 38 departures and 14 different types of photography holidays to choose from.

• Transport to and from the photography locations where necessary

Painting

Painting breaks let our guests learn, improve or try a new skill. Led by an extraordinary group of talented artists and tutors we help create new skills, advance techniques and develop art. Holidays on offer include: Landscape Painting at its Best, Rambles with a Sketchbook, Pastel Landscapes, Chinese Brush Painting, and Vibrant Water Based Inks. These are aimed at anyone from complete beginners to those with artistic experience. For 2010 we have 55 departures and 17 different types of painting holidays on offer.

Freedom Breaks

Choose your arrival day. Choose your departure day. Your holiday, when you want it, where you want it. We provide guests with the freedom to plan each day just as they want it.

Stay in one of our beautiful Country Houses and choose your own itinerary. We’ll provide maps, routes and transport ideas. We know the best walks, and the best places to visit. You’ll find all our Country Houses are geared towards the outdoor enthusiast. There are drying rooms and places for boots, and a mini-shop on site to stock up on sun cream, energy bars, and even trekking poles. A Freedom Break is a flexible way to explore.
