Photography
No holiday is complete without the snapshots and photos that remind us where we’ve been. An HF Holidays’ photography break is perfect for picking up skills and tips from the professionals to make your photographs special.
Important Facts
- Developing facilities for film: although some venues have local high street print developing facilities, we have found you will often get the best results if you wait until you get home and use a known developer.
- The cost of any required transport each day is included in the price of your holiday.
How much walking?
Most of these holidays assume you will be out and about taking photographs for some of the day. This may involve up to 5 miles of walking in the countryside (or more if indicated). To ensure your safety and comfort you will need appropriate clothing and footwear. You will also need a suitable bag for your equipment, allowing for bad weather and difficult terrain.
Please select a holiday from the left hand menu.

| Photography in Europe NEW |

Sarlat (Dordogne, France)
For the photographer, the signature landscape of the Dordogne is the limestone gorge, lushly vegetated with sparkling water. Dramatic villages and castles rise above the water, invariably spanned by a stone arched bridge. Capturing these dramatic scenes in the unforgiving light of a French sun and also exploring some less expected and unusual scenes and features is the aim of this holiday. With expert tuition and great local food and wine, it’s perfect for photographers wanting to dip deeper into the French landscape. Additional transport charged locally.
Malta and Gozo
The sea dominates Malta’s landscape, and for photographers this can mean anything from moody sunsets to colourful fishing boats, grand harbours to crashing waves. Exploring the island and its diminutive neighbours Gozo and (weather permitting) Comino on foot, we’ll seek out the best situations for photography. It might mean challenging light and dark on the historic narrow streets of Valletta and Rabat, or capturing the vivid blue-green water and blinding white cliffs around Gozo’s inland sea. Bright flowers and delightfully archaic buses are a visual feast for beginners and experts alike. You will stay on Malta and spend a day on Gozo. Public transport costs payable locally.
