"As we have so few staff live in, part-time people who live locally cover many shifts. Living in may appear a little isolated at times, so someone that is of an independent nature is preferred for this location. Mixing with the local staff means that further opportunities are endless for your social life! A hard working team, we like to have a bit of banter to while away the working hours! "

And from the end-of season card from the staff:-
"Although it is hard work sometimes, everyone is very friendly making the work less of a chore"
Anonymous
About the House:
Meals are taken in the staff room, just off of the main kitchen, although with the provision of a small kitchen in the bungalow, meals can be reheated, or snacks made during off duty times. Bed linen and towels are provided, iron and ironing board. Washing and drying can be done in the hotel laundry, free of charge. You can of course attend evening activities with the guests, or during off duty times go on the walks or day trips, availability allowing. There is an outdoor swimming pool open May to September, which is always popular with the staff.
About the local area:

Storrington is the nearest village, about 2 miles away, which is a good 30-minute walk. Storrington has a supermarket, newsagents, hairdressers, doctors, dentists, pubs, restaurants, cafes, chemists, library, video store and various small outlets, you can get most things from here.
