The beautiful valley of the River Usk is a green artery through the Brecon Beacons National Park which can be fully appreciated from the delightful river or canal side paths. Following the riverbank, or the delightful Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal for much of the route, this a relaxing introduction to trail walking. |

Detailed information
| Itinerary |
 |
|
37 miles 8-11 miles and up to 350ft of ascent in a day. |
Day 1: arrival day.
Day 2: meander along the riverbank from the small market town of Usk to The Bryn.
Day 3: walk beside the river, and then the canal, to the aqueduct at Gilwern.
Day 4: enjoy superb views across the valley to the Black Mountains as we make our way along the towpath to Llangynidir.
Day 5: complete the walk in style, walking below the peaks of the Beacons to Brecon.
Day 6: departure day.
