Celebration Day with HF Holidays at Holnicote House

Join us for a special day of guided walks and activities at Holnicote House, near Selworthy. This traditional Country House is a National Trust property at the heart of the expansive Holnicote Estate, which lies between the Somerset coast and northern edge of Exmoor. Once home to the Acland family, the House is now leased by HF Holidays to provide an excellent base to explore the coastline and moorland.

Hurlstone Point:
Visit the attractive villages of Allerford and Bossington and enjoys superb coastal views.
Following paths and tracks to Bossington we walk along part of the South West Coast Path to the dramatic headland of Hurlstone Point, an excellent viewpoint. Our return route uses a higher path which contours around the slopes of Bossington Hill before descending gradually past St Agnes Fountain back to Holnicote House.
Distance/Duration: 4.75 miles (7.75km), 1,130ft (340m) of ascent/3.5 hours
Departs: 11.15am and 12.45pm

Selworthy Beacon & Hurlstone Point:
Enjoy beautiful the scenery of the Holnicote Estate on this most attractive circuit. Our route takes us first to Selworthy village before we commence a steady ascent up the wooded Selworthy Combe onto the summit of Selworthy Beacon. Your efforts will be rewarded with excellent views over the Bristol Channel and Porlock Bay that open up as we descend gently towards Hurlstone Point. Having admired this dramatic rocky headland we return to Holnicote House via St Agnes Fountain and Allerford village.
Distance/Duration: 6 miles (10km), 1,530ft (465m) of ascent /4.5 hours
Walks Depart: 10.45am and 12pm

After your walk, return to Holnicote House for afternoon tea - served from 2pm to 5.30pm.
