Andalucia is famous for beaches, fiestas and tapas. But there is far more to the most southerly region of Spain. Its cities paint the history of Spain. On this holiday we start in Malaga, towered over by the Castle of Gilbafaro. Then, en-route to Granada we visit the Alpujarras a region time has forgotten. In Granada we visit the UNESCO world heritage site the Alhambra and wander its lively streets and tapas bars. In Cordoba we visit the Jewish quarter and the Great Mosque before heading to Seville for a full day. Onto Cadiz, the oldest city in Western Europe, with a visit to the Torre Tavira, then onto El Puerto de Santa Maria for sherry tasting and lunch in a local bodega. A final night is spent in Seville before your flight home.

Arrive Malaga early afternoon travel to hotel and spend some free time in the city, before a welcome dinner with local wine included.
Half day tour of Malaga with a local guide, with a visit to the Castle of Gilbafaro, then a walk around Malaga along the promenade La Farola, passing the Roman Theatre, bullring and onto the famous cathedral with it unfinished right tower. Free time in the afternoon, very good choice of museums, or a lovely promenade along the sea.
Transfer to Granada via a visit to the “Alpujarras” a stunning valley full of white washed villages and incredible scenery. We visit three of these picturesque villages where life still feels like it did many years ago. Lunch included in a local restaurant.
In the morning a fully guided tour of the UNESCO World heritage site the Alhambra, this monument to the moors is quite rightly world famous. In the afternoon free time to explore Granada, sample the free tapas that come with drinks, visit the gypsy quarter or the markets and cathedral.
Transfer to Sevilla, via a half day visit to Cordoba where we visit the Great Mosque another of the great Moorish buildings in this part of Spain, we also tour the Jewish quarter before heading to Seville. Lunch in a local restaurant included.
A full day is spent in this wonderful city visiting the Cathedral the largest gothic building in Western Europe, before climbing La Giralda, the Moorish tower next to the cathedral. We will visit the Barrio of Santa Cruz, with its labyrinth of narrow streets and alleys and lively plazas, it was once the Jewish quarter, we finish with a boat ride on the river Guadalquivir.
This morning we head to Cadiz, which has a different feel to the other cities we have visited, the historic centre is an island and has a distinct Latin American feel to it. After a tour and a visit to the impressive Torre Tavira, we head to Puerto de Santa Maria across the bay, where we visit a bodega for sherry tasting and lunch. Heading back to Seville, this evening we have a farewell meal with local wine included.
Return to Malaga for the onward flight home
