Accommodation

2017

Stay in comfortable 3 and 4-star hotels and welcoming inns, specially selected for their stunning locations and access to the national parks. The mix of city centre and coastal locations will give you the perfect flavour and a big warm welcome from these two provinces.

Cambridge Suites Hotel, Halifax (2 nights)

Centrally located, the Cambridge Suites Hotel provides comfortable en-suite rooms for us to relax in after our flight. The hotel has a hot tub and sauna, as well as a rooftop patio with views overlooking the harbour. We'll also stop here on our final night.

Boscawen Inn, Lunenburg (2 nights)

A beautiful mansion, designed in Queen Anne style, dating back to the late 1800s. Only a short walk to the Old Town and docks, this fully licensed inn is situated on the hillside with lovely views all around. The inn only has 16 rooms, all decorated in Victorian style.

Harbourview Inn, Digby (2 nights)

Panoramic views and a warm welcome make this hotel a favourite. This century-old inn is located in Smith's Cove in Digby, and is the perfect place relax with an evening walk. Alternatively there’s a swimming pool at the hotel too.

The Algonquin Resort, St Andrews (2 nights)

The Algonquin is one of Canada’s most luxurious and legendary resorts. Rich in history, meticulously restored to its original splendour, and complete with every modern comfort you could desire, this year-round destination truly offers the best of the past with contemporary amenities. The hotel offers indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a great location by the sea.

St Martins Country Inn, St Martins (2 nights)

Situated in the heart of the Bay of Fundy, this heritage inn offers a wonderful view over the ocean in the historic fishing village of St Martins, New Brunswick. The Inn has 16 rooms, which have a mix of antique and modern furnishings, all have ensuite facilities.

Parkland Village Inn, Fundy (2 nights)

This hotel affords us fantastic views out over the Bay of Fundy, where we can hopefully watch the rise and fall of the area’s famous 50 foot tides.

On occasion we may need to change the accommodation listed above. If this happens, your replacement accommodation will be of the equivalent standard or higher. In the rare instance this is not possible, we will contact you in advance.

Born in the city of Montreal, Jean now lives in the suburbs close to the city of Québec. He has been a tour guide for more than 25 years, guiding tours mainly in Central, Eastern Canada and the Maritimes, specialising as an outdoor, rafting and canoeing guide.

During his spare time, Jean actively participated in the construction of his log house, has been a city counsellor, a leader of a movement to protect the environment in his community and is actually developing hiking trails on its territory.
